MIRKO ARNONE
Born in Italy, Mirko studied classical guitar and music theory at the National Music Conservatoire V. Bellini in Palermo (Italy) prior to completing his studies in lute and related early plucked instruments in Germany at the Staatliche Musikhochschule für Musik Trossingen under Rolf Lislevand where he qualified in 2005 with full marks. While studying in Trossingen, Mirko learned and developed fine music techniques and repertoire with the lute (Renaissance and Baroque) as well as theorbo, Baroque guitar, and continuo. He also performed regularly during these formative years.
In addition, Mirko has always kept a parallel interest in modern music and has passionately played the electric guitar since his teenage years. This interest has further developed in the last 5 years leading to activity as an arranger and composer in modern music productions. In 2009 he studied and improved his skills at the Musicians’ Institute in Hollywood (CA).
He has been active as a teacher since he was still a student both privately and in various Institutions. In Switzerland he has been teaching adults and kids at the Klubschule Migros Basel, Allgemeine Musikschule Oberwallis, Musikschule Basel, Musikschule Oberdorf, and ICMS Basel.
Mirko lives in Basel (Switzerland) since 2004. His fervent and enthusiastic music activity has sustained continuous performances in a variety of countries both as a solo and a continuo player. Most recently Mirko has been regularly working with a number of ensembles and orchestras such as Capriccio Barockorchester, Bach Consort Wien, Zürcher Kammerorchester, Orchestre de Chambre de Genève, Musica Fiorita, Cappella Tiberina, Ensemble Il Profondo, Holland Baroque Society, Cappella Mediterranea, Ensemble Severijn, Philarmonisches Orchester Heidelberg, Tonhalle Orchester Zürich, NDR Sinfonieorchester, Münchener Kammerorchester, Brandeburgisches Staatsorchester, and Il Gusto Barocco.
